Our excellent weather continues and Eduners continue to enjoy it at our favorite place. If all goes according to what the weather guessers tell us, our great weather should continue for the remainder of the week. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy it also.
 
This Weekend

A number of Eduners have taken it upon themselves to organize a scavenger hunt that should appeal to everyone. In addition, it will give everyone an opportunity to explore parts of our special place that don’t receive as much traffic. We expect the hunt will begin about 11 Saturday morning.

Make it a full weekend event. We expect several Eduners will arrive Friday afternoon and camp until Sunday. Feel free to join the party. We can have some campfires and maybe someone will bring the fixings for smores. As always at Lake Edun, the more the merrier.
 
Sauna Season Soon

As the weather cools every year, we look forward to firing up our sauna. This year is no different. It is wonderful to relax in our sauna with other like-minded Eduners and enjoy a good sweat. To make this happen, we go thru a considerable amount of wood. We have tried using the dead-fall available at our special place but, it doesn’t seem to generate as much heat as dimensional lumber.

Periodically we all have home projects. There are usually some scraps remaining. If you have some scrap left over from a project, please bring it with you on your next visit. 2×4’s, 2×2’s, 1x?. It makes no difference how long the pieces are; it all burns wonderfully. 
 
Annual Meeting

Looking ahead, we have our Annual Meeting scheduled for October 14. This is when we assess the year past and look for suggestions for the next year. We also select members to serve on our Board of Directors for the next year. These are the people who plan all the activities for our membership … They are the ones who make it happen!


In addition to the President, the board consists of a Secretary, Treasurer, Member Relations, Social, Education/Outreach, and Promotion/Publicity. Of course, if there is interest, we can certainly add additional positions to bring an outstanding program to our membership.


Consider this list. Combine it with your talents and interests. If you were on our Board, what would you like to see happen next year? How could/would you make it happen? Then consider a position on our Board of Directors.
